Founded in Janakpur with the conviction that lasting change comes from within communities, not from above them, CMF works at the quiet edges of Nepal — where a girl's education hangs on the cost of a notebook, where a grandmother's dignity depends on a roof that doesn't leak, where a village's future is shaped by access to clean water.

My daughter was about to leave school in the seventh grade. She is now studying in college. Chhaya Mithila held our hand when no one else would.

Our village had walked four kilometres for water for decades. Today, my grandchildren do not know that journey. That is a miracle, in plain sight.
I learnt tailoring at the CMF skills centre and now run my own small shop in the market. I no longer ask my husband for permission to buy my daughter milk.
